Can I drink flavoured Lucka water with fructose when on diet?
Answer to your question is not exactly unambiguous. It depends on what type of diet you have in mind. If you're on diet because you want to lose weight, I would recommend that you drink pure water (e.g. still Lucka spring water). If in spite of dieting you can't resist sweetened drinks, Lucka Angelic fruit edition is definitely a more suitable alternative than drinks with sugar. Our flavoured variety contains fruit sugar fructose that has higher sweetability than glucose and therefore the drink contains less of it. I would recommend that you check GDA index on label that tells you the exact percentage of overall caloric intake in one portion (250 ml) of our flavoured water. If you combine dieting with exercise, your body will have a higher demand for sugar. If you want to avoid being hungry after exercise that we usually satisfy through eating sweets or nutritional bars, our water during and after exercising is positively a better option.
If you are on a medical diet (e.g. for diabetics, for people with heart disease etc.), it might be a good idea to consult your doctor. Fructose in general (in restricted amounts) is recommended also for diabetic diet. Our waters due to their low content of sodium, appropriate ratio of calcium and magnesium and low overall mineralization are also suitable for people with heart disease, or people who want to prevent blood pressure problems, kidney and urinary tract problems, etc.
If I don't have pink Lucka to hand, can I boil blue or green for my child instead?
For nurslings we recommend Lucka spring water for infants (it's necessary to remove carbon dioxide through boiling when preparing food for nurslings) and Lucka spring water for infants completely still as we apply the highest safety measures at their production process. Our company though uses up-to-date manufacturing technologies and by production of all varieties of waters we comply with such measures that secure microbiological purity of the water. Besides that all waters from the Lucka brand come from the same spring (Lucka spring, Hubina, SR), so their content is the same. Therefore it's not a problem in case of emergency to use any of our spring waters to prepare food for nurslings, but make sure that you remove carbon dioxide through boiling.
At what age is it safe for a child to drink flavoured mineral water?
I would not recommend giving children mineral water at all (if you had in mind mineral water with overall mineralization over 1.000 mg/l). Even adults should according to the experts drink mineral water only in restricted amounts (max. 0,5 l per day) and regularly alternate or check the exact content of minerals if they are this way trying to supplement minerals in case of their deficiency or in case of illnesses where a higher intake of minerals is recommended by doctor.
But if you're asking whether our flavoured spring waters Lucka Angelic fruit are suitable for children, it depends fully on parents' judgement. I personally have a 4,5 year old daughter who loves our Raspberry with rosehip water and I am certain that thanks to fructose, she takes healthy sugar. I would not though give her water with preservatives (even though in this case there is minimum amount of one preservative) if she were under the age of 2-3.
Why do you pay so much attention to sodium content? Is it dangerous?
Dangerous is slightly exaggerated, if we want to stay objective. Professional sportsmen but also people who work manually in challenging temperature conditions, or in summer when people lose more salt through perspiration should aptly supplement sodium. But our main target group is infants, pregnant women and breastfeeding mums and in their case sodium intake should be as low as possible.
